The Hidden Heroes is a 3D serious board game developed by Reko Smith.
The aim of the game is to learn more about young carers and what they experience throughout their childhood.
The board that you play on simulates different childhood lifestages for a young carer: they go from primary school to secondary school, college then university.
Your aim: is to get around the board and remain the last one standing. The dice rolls are completely random and how you increase or decrease your energy pts will therefore be random.
This is to represent what a young carer's life is like... sometimes it can be random.
When you land on a tile, you are either increasing or decreasing your energy points. Energy points represent the energy that a young carer has, to do the things they do on a daily basis. The cards are randomised from a list, and when you draw a card, they represent a situation that a young carer goes through.
Instructions are provided as to how you can play the game.

Welcome to my game, The Hidden Heroes. A 4-player serious board game, designed to give YOU, the player, some insight and knowledge about young carers.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Open the 'HiddenHeroesWindows' folder, in there is the executable.
2. Double click to open 'HiddenHeroesGame.exe'.
3. Watch the intro video to learn more about the game, and what to do.
4. Click 'skip' if you watched the video or have already watched it. This will take you to the main menu.
4.You're at the main menu. Press 'Play Game', this will take you to the character selection menu.
5. Choose which player is a human or CPU.
6. The game will launch. Please allow it some time to load. The game will randomly choose a player to start.
7. Play the game! Press the 'Escape' key to access the menu.
8. When 3 players have less than 1 pts, the game will immediately show a victory video in another scene. Please allow it time to load.
9. After watching the video (or if you've already watched it) you can go to the main menu or quit with the buttons provided.
PLEASE NOTE: It can take a little while to load videos, so it may seem it's crashed. Please bare with it.
In the pause menu, random videos play, and give you an insight into facts about young carers.
There's also a music video with me (Reko) in it - I own the copy of this video.
Depending on who wins, a personalised video will show.
I hope you enjoy playing The Hidden Heroes.
